The DJ Instagram Profile Checklist: 10 Fixes You Can Make Tonight
Your profile is your shop window. Before a promoter hears a single track, they've already judged your bio, your grid and your last post date. Here's the checklist we run in every mentoring call — do these tonight.
The checklist
- Name field = searchable. "DJ Name | Genre | City" — the name field is indexed by Instagram search; your handle alone isn't enough.
- Bio line 1: what you play. Be specific. "Amapiano & Afro house" beats "music lover".
- Bio line 2: where you're based + where you'll travel.
- Bio line 3: booking route. An email or a link — remove all friction.
- Pin your 3 best posts. One live clip, one mix, one personality post.
- Highlights that sell you. "Live", "Mixes", "Book me" — not 2019 holiday stories.
- Profile photo where you're visible. Not a distant crowd shot; bookers want to recognise you at the venue.
- Kill the dead links. A linktree full of expired pages reads as neglect.
- Last post under 14 days old. Always. This is the habit that matters most.
- Every caption ends with a reason to interact. A question, a poll, a "tag a promoter" — engagement teaches the algorithm to show you to more people.
Why this works
None of these require followers, budget or luck. They require consistency — which is exactly the muscle our 7-day challenge trains. Fix the profile tonight, then let the daily actions keep it alive.
Want a second pair of eyes on your profile? That's literally what our mentoring calls are for.
